Faith Formation

We love children! Father Michael is dedicated to leading candidates, or those standing up for them, to full Christian initiation (baptism, anointing, communion) through faith formation.  St. John's has a beautiful nursery and well-appointed Sunday School rooms, as well as a children's corner where children can be comfortable but still be close to the adults participating in the service. We are very happy to accommodate families and their needs. 

St. John's regularly engages  in Bible or book studies, especially during Advent and Lent, and has also held retreats and special Quiet Days for reflection.   Parishioners have participated in the wonderful Revive programme from Forward Movement, designed to equip lay leaders to be Spiritual Leaders.  St. John's is blessed to have a beautiful Prayer Garden for quiet reflection, a canvas labyrinth for meditation and prayer, and a library of spiritual and religious books of every kind.  

There are many opportunities to deepen our faith through our various ministries. Whether it is by participating in our services, visiting those in need as part of our Pastoral Care team,  or organizing donations to the local Food Bank, our faith is deepened and strengthened by our participation in the Eucharist, but also by our engagement with Scripture, spiritual practice, and each other.
