St. Teresa of Avila
St. John's regularly reaches out to members of the parish through calls, visits, and cards. As well, we pray for each member of the parish in our parish cycle of prayer. We offer love and support to those in need through our prayers and concrete help.
We have a wonderful team of talented ladies who knit and crochet beautiful shawls which are given to those who are sick, dying, and suffering loss. Each shawl is blessed by our priest-in-charge before being given to those in need.
Our goal is to celebrate and and acknowledge parishioners' accomplishments, milestones, and happy events., as well as times of difficulty, sorrow, and loss.
St. John's invites the community of Rockwood to our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, and our Parade of Lights Chili Supper. Our Parish Hall has been used by many organizations who are giving back to the community. Running a holiday sale or weekly special? Definitely promote it here to get customers excited about getting a sweet deal.
St. John's regularly donates food and other items to the East Wellington Community Services (EWCS), a local community service agency.
St. John's supports the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF), the Anglican Church of Canada's agency for sustainable development and relief in Canada and around the world. In the past we have supported the World of Gifts programme, an investment in a sustainable future for some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. More recently, we have supported Indigenous youth in Canada's north.
